Project: 5.0 Coyote New Edge 1_G

What started out as just your regular run of the mill 04 2v GT with headers, has turned into quite the project and a monster build that we have dubbed "Project 5.0 Coyote New Edge."

Personally the 99-04 body style is one of my favorites, (never really jumping on the whole retro bandwagon) but one cannot dismiss the awesome power that the new Coyote 4V 5.0 has right out the gate. David felt the same way and knew that he wanted that kind of power in his New Edge. Tossing around the idea of adding a blower to his 2v or not, he knew that he would not be able to get the power gains SC 2v vs NA 4v that he wanted. David came to Pro Dyno with one thing in mind, a very customized 04 GT with the power of the new S197 cars.

With help from Summit Racing, Vintage Air, BBK Exhaust, Fore Innovations, JLT, McLeod Clutches, Steeda, Baer Brakes, Maximum Motorsports, AJE Racing and Pro Dyno, follow along as we detail the build, something that we are all very proud of!

Vintage Air provides a kit to re-route the air conditioning and power steering pumps, utilizing factory set-up:

The Vintage Air kit completely installed and a set of Coyote Swap specific BBK Long Tube Headers installed:

Fore Innovations provided us with their custom fuel system with Pro Dyno engraved fuel rails:

The new Coyote's have a completely different throttle set-up compared to the old 4.6, some custom wiring and pedal placement was needed:

Alot of time went into wiring everything correctly for the swap in order for both the 4.6 and 5.0 computers to work, the factory gauges as well as the throttle:

With the re-routing of the AC system, custom lines had to be made in order to fit properly:

With the new Coyote in between the shock towers, there is not much room left for the battery, so a relocation kit from Summit Racing was utilized to move the battery to the trunk of the car, still leaving room for groceries:

With work under the hood nearing completion, David wanted his car to handle as good as it looked, so he opted for a set of Tokico shocks and struts, Ford Racing C Springs, Steeda Caster Camber Plates, Steeda Rear Control Arms, and Maximum Motorsports Subframe Connectors:

David also wanted some good stopping power and opted for a Baer Big Brake System that you can see here, with the Tokico's topping the front suspension off:

Adding his own custom touch to the already stunning engine bay, our in house painter added these screaming yellow carbon fiber coil covers and intake, as well as painting our custom fender piece to house the computer screaming yellow:

And to show his support of Pro Dyno, we added a set of our new quarter window decals in matching yellow:

After hitting the dyno, you can see that the numbers speak for themselves. N/A vs N/A the power of these new Coyote's is untouchable!:

Thanks again for following David's build, and to David for trusting us with his vehicle! It was a long and tiring process, but in the end David knew it would be worth it! We cannot wait to hear his stories from the road and what he and others have to say about his 5.0 Coyote New Edge!
